Ron Tillery had an interesting blog the other day on the Memphis Edge about the possibility of a buyout for Antoine Walker. In fact, he was downright endorsing the buyout:

Well, well. Looky here. The Grizzlies have won their fourth game in a row! Sure, still a team with more than its share of warts, but one that is being enabled to show its talent. And there are a couple of very positive trends developing around this team's play that are very encouraging. And what, pray tell, might those be?

Via Grizzlies.com:
The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that they have signed free agent forward Darius Miles. Terms of the deal were not disclosed per team policy.
"Darius has been an active, productive player in the past,” said Grizzlies General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Wallace. “He did a good job with the Celtics in preseason and we look forward to working with him."

The boys at 3 Shades of Blue have been very fortunate to have been granted access to many areas of the Grizzlies organization in the past but possibly the most enjoyable aspect has been the opportunity to meet and talk with the members of the Grizzlies Dance team. It is with great pleasure that 3 Shades of Blue continues this tradition this year with a weekly interview with each of the 19 current dancers on this year's team.
First up is Lamescia.

In front of the largest crowd of the year, the Grizzlies played their best ball of the year. Fighting back from a 1st quarter double digit deficit, the Grizzlies thoroughly embarrassed the Bulls. I just went and looked at many of the Bulls messageboards, and their fans are furious. And with good measure, their team is a complete and udder mess. Beyond Derrick Rose, every one else is just stumbling around. larryhughespleasestoptakingsomanybadshots.com is joisting any and every jumpshot he sees. Noah and Ty Thomas might be the most erratic, ugly, out of control frontcourt reserves in the league. Deng is playing at about 50% of what he did years ago. Ben Gordon is crying about not getting a contract. Aaron Gray (!) is their best inside scoring threat. Drew Gooden looks ridiculous. Nocioni is more apt to being on WWE or UFC than basketball. Why am I piling it on the Bulls instead of praising the Griz, you ask? Let's just say this blogger is more than a little bitter about the Pau-Gasol-to-the-Bulls rumors from years ago. And no, Ty Thomas, a United Center janitor and 4 2nd round picks is not enough to get Pau.
Enough about the bumbling, stumbling Bulls. The Griz are awesome!!! Seriously. Awesome! Won 3 in a row for the first time since the invention of the internal combustion engine, awesome. Won 4 of 5 and don't need no stinkin govertment bailout, awesome. Finally starting to gel, awesome. Yes, GEL!!!!! Maybe becoming better than our record, awesome. Best win of the year in front of the largest crowd of the year, awesome. Be proud of the Griz today. Gloat to a friend about the Griz today. The deserve it. They are finally playing team-oriented ball. They are hustling. They seem to care about defense. The coaches are making good decisions. Things are looking up. And with a favorable schedule coming up, things might even get better.

3Shades of Blue was just informed by an informed person who has been informed of the Grizzlies decision to pick up the option of Quinton Ross for the remained of the season.
It is still unclear if Quinton Ross has been informed of this information.
I'm serious about this by the way. The Grizzlies really did pick up Quinton's contract for the remaineder of the season. Since the team is already at the league minimum for players it isn't really surprising however. |

Zack Lawrence, one of the original bloggers at 3 Shades of Blue, has always had a fairly different take on how this team should be viewed than I do. Recently he asked fans to join him to "embrace over-reaction". He went so far as to say that we should be like Philly fans in that regard.
What a terrible idea!
Philly fans threw snowballs at Santa Claus!

The Grizzlies play an opponent even in the third and win the fourth by thirteen points? Sure, it wasn't exactly the Celts/Lakers/insert elite team here, but the Grizzlies did win the game after being down *TWENTY-ONE POINTS* in the second quarter.
WAY TO GO GRIZZLIES!!!! How'd they do it?
