Via ESPN.com:

The Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Hornets have agreed to a three-team trade that will bring two new guards to the Gilbert Arenas-less Wizards, according to NBA front-office sources.

The Wizards will receive New Orleans' Mike James and Memphis' Javaris Crittenton in the exchange, with the Hornets acquiring Washington's Antonio Daniels and the Grizzlies coming away with a future first-round pick.

Ron TilleryRon Tillery has his stat of the day. It's usually trivial and sounds like he pulled it off the ESPN weird facts page but sometimes it is interesting. I assume that Ron actually has some idea about what he is reading. I mean he is claiming to find these stats himself. It seemed logical to imagine he wasn't just reading something on paper but actually understood what was going on behind the words. The man is a journalist after all and he works with words for a living (unlike certain old and fat bloggers who actually have a real job).

Apparently I was wrong.

I've been tracking Hamed Haddai's stats in the D-League play. Click here to go to his DLeague stat page.

Click on the read more to see a chart of his stats in 5 games.

He's not getting a lot of minutes nor shooting a lot, but rebounding for the limited minutes is good.

Memphis at Oklahoma City - 12.9.08 E-mail

GrizzliesMemphis is actually starting to look like a team again. After the embarrassing loss to the Thunder in Memphis followed by a less than explosive effort against the Hawks, Memphis has won two of their last three games including an impressive win against the Houston Rockets. This will be another opportunity for the Grizzlies to win back to back games, somthing that has eluded them this season. Rudy Gay should be back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench against Houston for being late to the shoot around. Mike Conley should not be back in the starting lineup despite his strong play of late as the starters seem to respond better to Lowry in the lineup.

Don from With Malice hosted the first ever Bloguin Network roundtable on the subject of whether or not the Cleveland Cavaliers are an elite team or simply the beneficiaries of a weak early schedule.  There are some interesting thoughts out there on both sides of the question, so be sure to check it out.

Griz Surprisingly Beat Rockets; Gay Surprisingly Doesn't Start E-mail
Written by Zack Lawrence

I have a feeling the Griz would gladly take this up and down play over the mostly down play that plagued the team for much of November.  After losing 7 straight and 11 of 12, the Griz have reeled off an impressive win against the Clips, followed by a complete coma-inducing performance in a loss to the Hornets, and now followed that with a solid game against the Rockets to earn their first division win of the season. Up-down-up.

Rudy surprisingly didn't start the game, as the CA reports that he was late to a shoot around.  It hardly bothered him.  He played a solid game and scored 20 points in 24 minutes.  Iavaroni, who was given a 1-to-1 odds of being fired soon by ESPN, stuck with a modified version of his new starting lineup, with Lowry and Darko starting.  They were joined by Ross, Mayo and Gasol.  The lineup was a good choice, as the Griz started the game as strong and team oriented as any game this season, ending the 1st quarter surprsingly whipping the Rockers 32 to 19 (to be fair, the Rockets were without two-thirds of their oft-injuried Big 3 in McGrady and Artest).
